Welcome to Big Sky, Montana
The Mountain
Not just one, but three mountains to delight skiers and snowboarders. Lone Mountain
is Big Sky's signature peak, rising to a spectacular 11,166 feet. For those who
dare, the Lone Peak Tram takes the bold to the apex, with 3,600 acres, 4,350 jaw-dropping
vertical feet and expert terrain below. The northern exposure ensures the best snow
conditions in Montana (an average of 400 inches of light dry powder each year doesn't
hurt either).
Adjacent Andesite Mountain has some of Big Sky's best intermediate cruising runs,
south-facing beginner trails, several expert tree runs and a giant half-pipe and
terrain park.
Flat Iron Mountain is on the eastern shoulder of Andesite and offers skiers and
snowboarders a variety of adventure.
In between Andesite and Lone Mountains, is located Big Sky's designated snowshoe
trail: Moose Tracks.
The new Lone Tree Quad Chairlift provides access to beautiful new terrain previously
accessable only by snowcat. In total, Moonlight Basin will see the addition of approximately
27 new runs as well as new hike-to terrain.
