Just for Kids

Think that Big Sky doesn’t have things for kids? Think again! With so much going on in Big Sky, there are adventures for the whole family, no matter what season it may be.

At the Resort

Child Care

Conveniently located at the base of the mountain, Lone Peak Playhouse offers child care for children 6 months to 8 years old. Spend the day on the slopes while your kids play in a safe and fun environment.

Kids Club

Every day from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, kids 4 and up can join in the fun at the Kids Club in the Village Center. Each day features different activities, from crafts and slime making to rescue dog demonstrations, and, of course, playing in the snow.

Lessons

Not sure about hitting the slopes? Big Sky Resort offers ski and snowboard lessons for all ages and skill levels.

Ziplines, High Ropes, Giant Swing, Bungee Trampoline

Kids of all ages will enjoy Big Sky Resort’s unique blends of adrenaline-pumping excitement and scenic beauty. Soar through the Gallatin Canyon and leap high above Big Sky with the adventurous activities at Big Sky’s Basecamp.

Climbing Wall

The 25 foot climbing wall at Big Sky Resort’s Basecamp let kids have fun and learn the skills of rock climbing in an enjoyable and safe atmosphere.

Tube Park

Big Sky Resort features tube and sled parks, complete with lifts to the top of the hill. Sled and tube rentals are available.

Snow Shoeing

Float over the snow as you explore the Gallatin National Forest on snowshoes. Set your own adventure with rentals from one of the many stores in the area, or enjoy a tour from local experts.

In the Area

Biking

With thousands of acres of forest and miles of winding roads, Big Sky is a biker’s paradise. Big Sky resort even offers lift access to well maintained bike trails of all terrains on Lone Mountain.

Rock Climbing

The twisting walls of the Gallatin Canyon provide exciting climbing possibilities, and Big Sky’s many outfitters willingly offer equipment rentals and guided trips. A 25 foot wall sits at Big Sky Resort’s Basecamp, and Geyser Whitewater has an indoor climbing wall year-round for those rafting with them and others who reserve a spot.

Horseback Riding

For a classic western adventure, hop into the saddle and ride deep into the backcountry. Area outfitters and dude ranches provide guided trips, lessons, and pointers for all skill levels.

Cross Country Skiing

Lone Mountain Ranch offers 85 kilometers of impeccably groomed trails minutes from Big Sky. Several area outfitters also lead trips into the backcountry to ski through the area’s pristine National Forest land.

Sleigh Rides

Old fashioned sleigh ride tours let visitors relax and soak in the scenery as experienced guides tell stories to ward off the chill.

Snowmobiling

Speed through mountains and fields of powder on powerful snowmobiles. Outfitters offer family friendly tours, backcountry adventures and trips to Yellowstone destinations.
